Simply fill the water reservoir until water drains out, and then add your potting mix and plants. To fill the reservoir after your plant is potted, simply water your plant and the extra water will fill the reservoir! To access the water reservoir after potting for quicker filling or draining, drill a 3/4" hole in the side or back of the planter. Use the rubber plug (included) to cover the hole when not in use. After several weeks of regular watering, the plants will be able to pull moisture themselves, but occasional watering is still needed.
